Organisations rarely struggle because they lack data. They struggle because they need the right evidence to answer donor questions, demonstrate impact and make strategic decisions.
My work helps organisations evaluate programmes, generate strategic evidence, shape policy and communicate complex findings with clarity. I support NGOs, governments, international organisations and consultancies to make evidence-informed decisions that strengthen programmes, secure funding and drive meaningful impact.
Hi, I'm Dr. Maíra Fedatto.
I'm an independent global health consultant specialising in evidence generation, evaluation and strategy. I work with NGOs, governments, international organisations and consultancies to answer complex questions, strengthen programmes and generate evidence that informs better decisions.
Originally trained as a journalist before completing a PhD in International Relations at King's College London and the University of São Paulo, I combine analytical research with clear communication. My work sits at the intersection of evidence, policy and implementation, helping organisations navigate complex global health challenges with clarity and confidence.
Over the past decade, I've worked across academia, international organisations and the non-profit sector, leading research, evaluation and strategic initiatives spanning global health governance, health systems strengthening, health financing and global surgery. Whether designing an evaluation framework, developing donor-focused evidence or translating complex findings into practical recommendations, my focus is always the same: generating evidence that supports better decisions.
Alongside my consultancy work, I write about global health policy, financing and governance for professional and public audiences. My work includes commissioned articles, policy reports, opinion pieces and thought leadership, translating complex evidence into accessible ideas that inform debate and decision-making.
I believe that better global health policy begins with rigorous evidence, clear thinking and the ability to communicate complex ideas beyond academia.

Helping organisations understand what works, why it works, and how to strengthen programmes through independent evaluation and learning.
We design and deliver evaluations that go beyond reporting requirements, generating practical insights to improve programme performance, strengthen accountability, and support strategic decision-making.
Generating the evidence organisations need to answer complex donor, policy and programme questions.
Every programme has different evidence needs. We design bespoke research projects tailored to the questions that matter most, combining existing data with new evidence where needed through mixed-methods research, hospital record reviews, primary data collection and qualitative inquiry.
Turning evidence into strategy for stronger programmes, funding decisions and policy influence.
We help organisations translate evidence into action by informing programme design, shaping advocacy strategies, strengthening funding narratives and supporting evidence-informed decision-making.
Transforming complex evidence into clear, compelling communications that influence decision-makers.
